Ron Prosise is the Pastor-Teacher of Shepherd's Community Church. He received his Doctorate in Expository Preaching from The Master’s Seminary. His passion is to equip Christ’s church through teaching and shepherding, and to see God’s word joyfully lived out through lives empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Ron came to faith in Christ at an early age. Not sure of what to do next, he began reading five chapters of the Bible every day. This started a life-long love of God’s word. As a teenager Ron came across the Navigators’ Topical Memory System and began memorizing Scripture in a way that was strategic and practical. In seminary someone gave him the book Our Sufficiency in Christ by John MacArthur, which fortified his convictions concerning the authority and sufficiency of God’s word. Ron has also been influenced by the writings of John Piper and Donald Whitney. You will quickly see Ron’s passion for God’s word whether your listening to his teaching or spending time with him one-on-one.
Ron is head over heels in love with his wife Donna, and crazy about his kids Jonathan and Anna. He enjoys walking with his wife, biking with his kids, discovering a new ethnic food restaurant with friends, and playing a cut-throat game of Scrabble. Some of his more unusual experiences have been jumping out of planes as an Army paratrooper, serving as a Marine Corps chaplain, ministering in Washington D.C. after the 9/11 attack, flying an F-15, uncovering a counterfeiting operation in Iraq, and preaching in the throne room of Saddam Hussein’s palace in Baghdad during the Iraq war.
Zach met his wife of now 6 years, Noelle, on a tour with the Continental Singers in January of 1999, where he knew with certainty after 2 weeks that he wanted her to be his bride. Since then, the Lord has been gracious to bless their home with 2 beautiful children, Paige and Clay, who remind them of God's presence and grace every single day.
Zach enjoys God through many of the different gifts He is faithful to give like spending rare quiet moments with Noelle, making his kids laugh, getting to know God's precious saints, keeping up with the theological world, reading God-consumed books, and any sport in which his feet remain directly on the ground (unlike skiing, ice skating, roller blading, etc.). Zach believes wholeheartedly that God's gifts are meant to be enjoyed as a means to love and enjoy God Himself more deeply.
Kyle Petersen is the Worship Minister at Shepherd’s Community Church. Kyle’s ministry is primarily devoted to the worship music at SCC as well as some administrative roles. He is currently working on a M.A. in Biblical Studies at the Master’s College in Santa Clarita, California. Kyle’s greatest desire is to see Christ exalted through worship in every area of life, and to see His church become increasingly passionate about worshiping Him in spirit and truth as one body.
Kyle met his wife Heather at Target where they both worked in high school. They were married in June 2007, and are so thankful to the Lord for His faithfulness to them. Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife, music, studying God’s Word, reading books that range from Christian living to theology, ice hockey, chess, and most of all the privilege of being a child of God.
